Are you looking for a trainer for all terrains which is light, with good damping and great grip? Well, look no further. Nike has put everything into a 240g shoe.
For the first time that we tested the shoes on asphalt, grass and dirt, we collected opinions from customers, runners and professionals in our tests of material. And with all this information, we present you with our review of the Lunar Epic Flyknit.
The Upper (ankle part of the trainer)
Nike has brought to the world of running the anklet socks on their signature football boot, the Nike Magista. During the process, they have improved the Flyknit fabric which defines the Upper, in order to provide the perfect fit to the foot of each runner and a precise fixing, in those points where necessary. Their incredible flexibility, converts into a trainer capable to adapt to different shapes without losing a good sense of stability at any moment.
This is possibly the weakest part of the shoe, because despite its incredible lightness, the feeling is like wearing a sock with little breathability. In any case, given the average breathability, we can forget this about the shoe and focus on the race.
From what we already know with Laser technology from the famous Lunarlon 1 Nike. If we focus on the user experience, this is interpreted as good cushioning, able to adapt to the type of tread for each runner without losing reactivity.
The Lunarlon, by mapping the sole pressure, is able to distribute the impact of the force evenly over the entire surface. Thus, a custom damping is obtained at different points of the support and propulsion, improving the fluidity during the course of the tread.
The distribution of the rings of the sole makes the shoe more responsive to both asphalt, and clay. Surprising behavior of the same in the second case, where the response is active and instantaneous even in series below 3mins/km.

What I like most about the shoe, is the feeling of introducing to the foot in a sock which is going to be progressively adjusting in order to disappear when you are wearing them.
With reference to its use, we could say that we are facing a shoe able to adapt to the needs of a large group of riders, allowing them to enjoy a comfortable and smooth race in different of the race, weight and rhythm. As for the trainers, they have been made from series under 3min/km runs of up to 2km, on asphalt and compacted ground, with a very good response in all situations.
